November 27, 2025 | Chengdu—A nine-member delegation from the College of Management Science at Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT), led by Secretary of the Party Committee, Assoc. Prof. SU Yuqiong, visited the School of Economics and Management (SEM) on Thursday for a strategic exchange on best practices in academic governance and development.
The meeting, held at the Jiuli Campus, was moderated by SEM’s Secretary of the Party Committee, Ms. JIANG Jia. Guided by a framework of collaborative governance, the two institutions engaged in in-depth, pragmatic discussions on a range of key issues, including disciplinary development, industry-education integration, internationalization, and school administration.

HAN ke, Dean of SEM, outlined an overview of the school’s history, its disciplinary structure, and key achievements in talent cultivation. He also highlighted the school’s initiatives in promoting interdisciplinary studies and strengthening both internal and external collaborations. In turn, Dean LAI Bin of CDUT’s College of Management Science shared his institution’s distinctive academic features, educational philosophy, and strategic plans.

The key outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Collaborative Governance and Party-building Agreement by JIANG and SU. Guided by the principles of “resource sharing, complementary advantages, and mutual success,” the two schools will strengthen their foundational leadership structures through joint organizational activities and research on governance topics, aiming to steer institutional development through strategic alignment.

Following the signing, the delegations held targeted discussions on key areas of academic management. The exchange covered best practices in disciplinary development, pedagogical innovation, and industry-academia synergy, as well as strategic approaches to internationalization and institutional governance. Both sides shared practical experiences and forward-looking ideas on topics ranging from curriculum optimization to performance evaluation systems.
The visit concluded on a high note, with both parties agreeing that this exchange serves as a valuable opportunity to deepen cooperation. Under the guidance of this new collaborative governance framework, both schools will work to advance their partnership in areas such as disciplinary development and talent cultivation, jointly contributing to the advancement of management education.
