On June 30, the elimination round of Second Western Region of the Seventh National Management Cases Classic was successfully held in Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU). The competition was jointly sponsored by China National MBA Education Supervisory Committee (CNMESC), China Management Case-sharing Center (CMCC), China Management Case Center Alliance and Case Research Professional Committee of Chinese Academy of Management, and undertaken by School of Economics and Management (SEM). 14 teams from 8 universities, including SWJTU, Sichuan Normal University (SICNU), Guizhou University, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Chongqing University of Technology, Southwest University, Yunnan University and Chongqing Technology and Business University took part in the game.
The judges of the elimination round include Professor Zhou Jian from Nankai University (chairman), Professor Chen Chuang from Xiamen University (XMU), Professor Feng Mei from University of Science & Technology Beijing (USTB), Associate Professor Wang Shaofei from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Lu Yun from Tieshan Group.
At the beginning of the round, Guo Qiang, Deputy Dean of SEM, made a speech and expressed a warm welcome to all the guests, judges and participating teams. He pointed out that the competition is a good opportunity for business schools to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, hoping that the participating teams could give full play to their strength to jointly promote the prosperity and development of business administration education in China.
According to the rules, the round is divided into the pre-blind review and on-site competition. The on-site phase is divided into small and big PK sections: in small PK section, each team on stage will reply to questions raised by its opponent team after presentation; in big PK section, each team on stage will respond to questions from the audience and judges. The final score of each team is the sum of the scores in pre-blind review and on-site competition.
After intense competition, “Team Bashu 007” of Southwest University won the champion; “Commando Jiaolong” of Southwest University of Science and Technology and “Team Second” of Southwest University got the second place. Southwest University and Southwest University of Science and Technology will participate in the national final in Xiamen University in September as representatives of Second Western Region colleges. So far, the competition successfully dropped its curtain.
Through the analysis and discussion of hot social and economic cases, this competition highly simulates the real commercial war, broadens the vision of MBA students, improves their comprehensive analysis and decision-making ability, and will also promote the improvement of MBA education.
